If you’ve seen The Shallows, you will know Blake Lively’s to die for body is well and truly back. How any one has the confidence to spend a full feature length film in little else than a skimpy bikini just 5 months after giving birth is beyond our comprehension but Blake looks absolutely stunning and her stomach is truly a thing of wonder.
If you’re like Blake and want to shift those post baby kilos, or simply want to tone up for summer, check out the diet and exercise routine that got her looking this good.
The 27-year-old actress swears by celebrity trainer Don Saladino. She attends his New York city gym Drive495, which is famous for sculpting a number of Hollywoods hottest bodies. Saladino’s method for new moms revolves around low-impact exercises that work the core, glutes and legs.
“Your body goes through a lot after pregnancy, so small, gentle workouts feel better,”
The moves that he recommends are goblet squats and Romanian dead lifts.
“Do three sets of 10 reps twice a week to start out,”
“add an extra day each week as you begin to feel stronger”.
If you’re unsure on how to nail these moves, give them a search on Youtube to get your technique right.
But it wasn’t all about hitting the gym for Blake.
“I hate the gym,” she said, “who doesn’t? When I’m in the gym I feel like I am missing out. I would rather rent a bike or go for a hike.”
She revealed that she fills her diet with fresh produce, blended juices and lean proteins like turkey, chicken and venison.
“Some days I look in the mirror and think, “Oh my gosh. I look like a potato.” I’m a human being – everybody has their insecurities,”
she said in a recent interview. Her goal is to be healthy and not to worry too much about the weight on the scales – which is a great attitude for anyone looking to tone up and live a better lifestyle.
