Oh boy, it is about to go down. Kim Kardashian featured on the cover of GQ this month looking pretty damn hot and she provided an equally saucy interview for the magazines June issue. But why the drama with Taylor? We are glad you asked…
Remember when Kanye West dropped his new album, The Life of Pablo, and there was one song that caused a whole lot of controversy. The song, titled Famous, contained the lyrics;
“I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why, I made that b*** famous. God damn, I made that b*** famous.”
The lyric was a pretty clear reference to the moment at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in which Kanye interrupted Taylor on stage during her acceptance speech. Following the release of the song, Taylor stated publicly that she had no idea Kanye was going to reference her in the song and even had a pretty obvious dig at him during her Grammys acceptance speech later that day.
Flash forward to now, and Kim Kardashian is telling us this is one big fat lie. “She totally approved that lyric. She totally knew that that was coming out and she wanted to all of a sudden act like she didn’t.”
Kim continues, telling GQ that Swift “totally gave the okay. Rick Rubin was there, so many respected people in the music business heard that conversation and knew. Taylors deep emotional wound is nonsense.”
Following Kim’s shocking interview with GQ, reports have now arisen that the phone call between Taylor and Kanye was actually video recorded, and Taylor’s lawyers contacted Kanye’s team and told them to destroy the footage.
The plot thickens. Should the video footage be released, it would be pretty damning evidence against Taylor’s “good girl” persona and may actually be a win for Kanye in the public eye.
Just yesterday, The Sun broke the news that Taylor had already moved on from her split with Calvin Harris with Avengers star Tom Hiddleston. The pair were snapped kissing on the beach outside Taylor’s property on Rhode Island yesterday.
Rumour has it that these photos were staged to distract from the impending PR catastrophe that would result from Kim’s GQ interview. Taylor’s team had heard that Kim didn’t paint Taylor in a good light in the interview, and so the very public pash was devised to drown out bad press.
If this is true, Taylor’s PR team have their hands full this week. Consider the Kanye versus Taylor feud back on.
