Mark this date in your calendar ladies because this will go down in hair history. Advances in hair drying technology have been few and far between in past years so the fact that Dyson has just announced that they are releasing a silent blow dryer is pretty damn exciting.
The deafening jet like sounds of your trusty old dryer will soon be a thing of the past, which means no more complaints from the boyfriend and also means you can listen to Beyonce’s new album throughout your entire getting ready routine.
It took Dyson 5 years, $71 million dollars and 600 prototypes to get to this stage and they expect to release the completed model later this year. It is called the Dyson Supersonic and will retail at around $399.
So how does it actually work, you may ask? The silence is achieved through its small and light motor, which is being advertised as the tiniest ever created. It also brags that it will fix those pesky frizzed hairs you get from other hair dryers.
Sir James Dyson, the designer behind this life-changing machine, said it was about time someone invented it;
“There has been zero innovation in this market for over 60 years. Millions of people use contraptions daily that are hideously inefficient, waste their time and are causing them long-term damage. We realized that we could — and should — sort this situation out.”
