Yes, you heard that right. Juicy Couture is back. Juicy Couture’s signature velour tracksuits were the original athleisure must-have back in the early noughties, made famous by the likes of Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. They have come to represent an era of somewhat questionable fashion and pop-culture trends, but Bloomingdales is resurrecting them for a special summer offering.
The launch will feature four key styles, two jackets and two pants in both womens and girls sizes, in a large variety of shades, from black all the way through to classic hot pink.
“We love the classic tracksuit and felt it was important to retain the original head-to-toe look,” said the director of fashion at Bloomingdales, “athleisure and casual, ‘off-duty’ dressing is an essential part of every woman’s wardrobe, and velvet is one of fall 2016’s most sought-after trends.”
Based on that logic, the Juicy tracksuits should be an absolute smash hit. However, don’t start whipping out your old Juicy tracksuit from 2004 just yet. The brand has taken a different creative direction with the new line, which doesn’t feature any of the bedazzling that made it so popular with the likes of Regina George’s mom.
Juicy Couture has teamed up with a bunch of supermodel celebrity types to create the Juicy Couture Black Label, which features understated hoodies andslim line, jogger style track pants in on trend colors and fabrications. You can watch their full promotional video below, and decide for yourself whether this you’ll be hashtagging #vivalajuicy or leaving bedazzled behinds back where they belong (in 2002).
