Whilst traditional church weddings aren’t for everyone, there are some traditional dress codes that you should still most definitely abide by. Regardless of the weddings theme or location, these are the five things you should never ever (never!) wear to a wedding.
The bride and groom could be the most relaxed people in the world, but even the most low maintenance couple has put serious effort into their wedding – so put some into your appearance! Your everyday jeans just aren’t going to cut it, so leave them for your weekends.
The bride does not want to be able to pick out your fluorescent green dress in every wedding photo. If colors are your thing, try stick to pastel tones or slightly muted colors. You have every other day of the year to stand out so keep it demure.
It may be the return of activewear but that doesn’t mean it’s appropriate for a wedding (even if that Yeezy sweater cost you $300 bucks). Unless the wedding somehow involves physical activity, keep your athleisure for yoga – or brunch.
Don’t listen to those new age wedding bloggers who tell you that white is ‘ok’ to wear to a modern wedding. It isn’t! A block white outfit is never okay, but white based patterns or a white top with a colored skirt is 100% fine.
