The 90s may be over but our love of girl bands and their perfectly coordinated outfits will never die! Keep scrolling as we walk down memory lane and reminisce on the days when TLC and the Spice Girls were top of our style charts…
Destiny’s Child rocked some killer get ups over the years, but this was one of our favorites. Rhinestoned red leather, matching purple eye shadow and Beyoncé in a bejeweled do rag – what more could you ask for?
The Spice Girls were the original girl band and they always managed to tie together their own personal style with an overall theme for each group appearance. They rocked up to their film premiere in 1998 wearing matching white suits, but whilst Posh stuck to her point toe pumps, Sporty accessorized with Asics sneakers and Scary had a cane – totally pulled it off.
If No Scrubs wasn’t your girl’s night anthem back in the day then you have some catching up to do. TLC always brought a typical 90s attitude to their group appearances, and we cant help but love this neon look they debuted at the Nickelodeon awards in 1999. Extra brownie points for creative letter placement.
The Dixie Chicks rocked their own respective color palettes on the Country Music Awards red carpet back in 1998. Complete with matching bleached hair dos, frosty lipstick and platform heels, they are the perfect picture of 90s fashion.
Flash forward and Little Mix show us how to perfectly do modern girl band coordination – mixing similar colors fabrics and patterns for a look that is cohesive without being over the top matchy matchy. Love, love, love.
